University Park Real Estate
SMU, Snider Plaza, and the other Park City
Why University Park?
University Park is the northern half of the Park Cities, home to Southern Methodist University and the intact 1927 shopping district of Snider Plaza. It is a walkable, family-anchored town of brick streets, manicured lots, and top-ranked University Park Elementary, with the Meadows Museum and Bush Center on campus and downtown Dallas ten minutes south. Buyers here are trading for schools, stability, and a life centered a few blocks from the campus quad.
What you should know
- SMU, founded 1927, anchors the center of town with Dallas Hall, the Meadows Museum's Spanish collection, and the George W. Bush Presidential Center.
- Snider Plaza, opened the same year as the university, is a family-friendly shopping district of small shops and local eateries across from campus.
- The town runs more than a dozen parks, from the tennis courts at Burleson to the fishing pond at Caruth, with Holmes Aquatic Center for lap swimming.
